Even if it is heated to more than 1900 ℃, it will not interact with molten aluminum, iron, nickel, platinum and other metals, silicates and acid slag. Therefore, it can be used to manufacture crucibles, refractory pipes, heat-resistant glass and heat-resistant enamel for smelting precious metals. Adding zirconia to enamel and glass can enhance their resistance to acid and alkali corrosion.
The high-temperature furnace lined with zirconia will not increase much after heating, and the temperature change has little impact on it. The furnace body will not produce cracks due to thermal expansion and cold contraction, which can greatly prolong the service life of the furnace. Using zirconia as refractory and adding 5% calcium oxide as stabilizer, its heat-resistant temperature is 500 degrees higher than that of alumina, and its thermal insulation capacity is three times higher than that before. Adding white zirconia into ceramics can make ceramics whiter, brighter, more heat-resistant and increase their strength. Making high-temperature insulating porcelain bottles with this kind of ceramics has strong insulation ability and small expansion coefficient.
